The 2022 Emmy Awards concluded by consecrating the success of Succession (Best Drama Series), Ted Lasso (Best Comedy) and The White Lotus (Best Miniseries), taking home the most important awards leaving cult series such as S stranger things without recognition.
The evening celebrating the best shows and their protagonists was held at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles and presented by the legend of Saturday night live, Kenan Thompson, who held the bench throughout the festival in front of a crowd of actors, directors, screenwriters and presenters.
Among the stars who took part in the event and vying for at least one Emmy nomination this year were some of the most famous names in the Hollywood sky, such as Reese Witherspoon, Zendaya, Andrew Garfield and Jason Sudeikis, as well as Abbott elementary ‘s Quinta Brunson, The White Lotus and Euphoria star Sydney Sweeney and the Squid Game cast.
This time around, the winners of the 2022 Emmy Awards have all agreed as they have paid tribute to the series, characters and actors who, more than any other, have thrilled, entertained and moved us over the past 12 months.
Lee Jung-Jae took home an Emmy for Best Lead Actor in a Drama Series for his performance in Squid Game (with Hwang Dong-hyuk winning an award for Best Director).
Zendaya won the award for Best Leading Actress in a drama series thanks to its “Trouble Don’t Last Always“, Jason Sudeikis for Best Lead Actor in a Comedy Series for Ted Lasso and Jennifer Coolidge for Best Supporting Actress with White Lotus.
At the same time, the one for Best Lead Actress went to Amanda Seyfried of The dropout.
Other 2022 Emmy winners include Jean Smart from Hacks ( Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series), Ozark’s Julia Garner (who won Best Supporting Actress for the third time in a row) and singer Lizzo, awarded for her reality show Watch Out for the Big Grrrls.
