The wait continues; for the new season, House of the Dragon of the Game of Thrones spin-off, it will take longer than expected.
The Dance of Dragons has just begun, and we already have to pause and wait. The first season of House of the Dragon has just ended with the outbreak (spoiler!) The war between the troops of Rhaenyra Targaryen and those of Alicent Hightower, who occupies the throne of swords.
Rivers of blood, revenge and twists are expected, but according to the latest statements from HBO, you have to get comfortable and wait confidently.
Fans need to arm themselves with patience because the new episodes will not arrive in the course of 2023.
House of the Dragon Season 2 will arrive in 2024
The news was already in the air, and it was to be expected between shootings scheduled for the beginning of next year and with the excellent post-production work for the special effects.
This was confirmed by Casey Bloys, content manager for HBO and HBO Max, who gave some insights during an interview with Vulture.
The Game of Thrones prequel will return “at some point in 2024”. For next year, therefore, it makes no sense to expect new episodes of the show, which, in this first cycle of episodes, was particularly appreciated by fans.
“We are only now starting to plan altogether, and, like last time, there are still many unknowns”, added Bloys, “It is not to be secretive or mysterious, but we do not mean that we will be ready on a certain date by then. having to postpone it.
“There is no hypothetical date yet, but HBO has got its hands on: “Don’t wait for it for 2023”.

The series will continue where it left off while keeping the same actors from the first season.
“It will broaden its focus,” Ryan Condal, co-creator of the show and executive producer, told the Times, “just like Game of Thrones did.”
“We have lived for a while in three different worlds: King’s Landing, Dragon Rock and Driftmark”, he added, “will continue to be our bases, but an upcoming war requires alliances from different kingdoms and armies over the map. of Westeros.”
