It has already been announced that the House of the Dragon will have a second season, after the broadcast of first episode of the House of the Dragon.
Although only the first episode of House of the Dragon has been broadcast, in the past few hours, it has already been announced that the show will have a second season.
The prequel series of The Throne of Swords will keep us company for a long time, and above all, thanks to the incredible number of spectators since the first episode of the show, which, to date, is around 20 million.
These mind-boggling numbers show how much the public is still very attached to Westeros, the ancient Empire of Valyria, and its characters.
Accomplishment of the season 1 of House of the Dragon
“We are proud of the accomplishment of the first season of House of the Dragon. Our phenomenal cast and crew have taken on a huge challenge and exceeded all expectations by delivering a show that has already established itself as a must-see TV series,” said Francesca Orsi, HBO executive.

“Thanks to George RR Martin, Ryan Condal, and Miguel Sapochnik for guiding us on journey. We couldn’t be more excited to continue bringing the epic Targaryen saga to life,” concluded Orsi.
Set two centuries before the events narrated in Game of Thrones, House of the Dragon tells the fall of the House Targaryen (inspired by the compendium Fire & Blood, written by Martin) thanks to a more than remarkable cast that includes Paddy Considine in the role of King Viserys Targaryen, Matt Smith as Prince Daemon Targaryen, Rhys Ifans as Otto Hightower, Emma D’Arcy will play the role of Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen and Olivia Cooke will play the role of Alicent Hightower.
