destructive letter from John Lennon to Paul McCartney appears and it’s being auctioned off publicly
On April 10, 1970, Paul McCartney publicly announced his departure from ‘ The Beatles ‘, thus initiating the separation of the most famous rock group in history .
As a result of the distancing of each of its members, specifically Paul and John Lennon , hundreds of theories and speculations began to emerge among their fans, being the bad relationship that Paul McCartney had with Yoko Ono, Lennon’s partner, one of the reasons main of this separation.
Now, 52 years later, the contents of a heartbreaking and destructive letter John Lennon wrote to Paul McCartney, 18 months after their split from him, have been revealed.
This three-page letter, typed and with some annotations in pen by John Lennon, is addressed directly to “Paul, Linda, et all the wee McCartney’s” (Paul, Linda and all the little McCartney’s), referring to all Paul’s family members.
In this letter, John Lennon responds to the statements made by McCartney in an interview granted to ‘Melody Maker’ on November 20, 1971, where he spoke about the dissolution of ‘The Beatles’ business association and Lennon’s relationship with Yoko Or not.
“It’s all very well playing ‘simple honest human Paul’ in Melody Maker… (but) if you’re not the aggressor (as you claim), who the hell took us to court and f*cked up on us?” in public?” Lennon asked in the letter.

This statement is due to the fact that McCartney denounced the other members of ‘The Beatles’ (Lennon, Harrison and Starr) for having named the group’s representative as the finance manager.
“Like I said before, have you ever thought that you might be wrong about something?” he added.
In addition, he also referred to the differences in the distribution agreements of the royalties of ‘The Beatles’ in relation to McCartney and the other members of the group, accusing him of being the only one who is profiting from the group’s music.
In the letter, Lennon also debunked Paul’s claims about the ‘Imagine’ song, where he stated that this song was not intended to be political .
“So you think ‘Imagine’ isn’t politics… It’s ‘working class here’ with sugar for conservatives like you,” Lennon said, comparing Paul McCartney to British activist Mary Whitehouse.
John Lennon charges Paul McCartney to defend Yoko Ono
In addition, Lennon also took advantage of this letter to defend his wife, Yoko Ono, from all those who claimed that she was responsible for the breakup of ‘The Beatles’ .
“The part that really baffled me was asking us to meet WITHOUT LINDA AND YOKO… I thought you would have already understood that I am JOHNYOKO,” stating that nothing would separate him from his wife.
The auction of this letter, organized by ‘Gotta Have Rock and Roll’ began at $20,000 and has currently achieved a bid of $33,000 , although it is expected to exceed $40,000 before August 19, the day of the auction closing.
